Ornella Lavender
Ornella Lavender was born in 1979 and grew up in Carinthia and Slovenia. At the age of 19, she moved to Graz to study at the Institute of Slavic Studies. She also spent a semester abroad in Ljubljana. While working on her master’s thesis, she began working in the financial sector and later completed her studies with a Master of Philosophy degree.
After the birth of her two children, she chose a new professional path and trained as a registered nurse. As part of this career, she also worked at the Department of Pediatrics at University Hospital Graz. Today, her diverse experiences across different countries, professions, and stages of life shape both her perspective and her writing.
